My new EP, Blue Tides, is out now and available on all major streaming platforms.
The six tracks continue the journey of the Blue Water series from the landscape surrounding the glacier towards the coast and out into the open sea. The music moves through canyon, braided black sand plains and shoreline before leaving land behind altogether, passing through distant vessels at night and finally settling into a state of dead calm.
Across the EP I’ve used piano, synthesizers, electric guitar, bass and Mellotron alongside field recordings made in Iceland and closer to home in Reading. Musically it moves between ambient, contemporary classical and downtempo styles, with darker drone and more experimental electronic elements appearing as the journey moves further offshore.
Blue Tides is the third chapter of my ongoing Blue Water project, following Blue Vessels (2024) and Blue Currents (2025). Each EP follows the same body of water on a different stage of its journey, beginning on the glacier and gradually moving towards the ocean. The ending of Blue Tides also points towards the fourth and final part, Blue Waves, where the journey will continue beneath the surface.
